The softest summer dress, a great velvet bench, and a jelly tote on sale
Plus the initial charms I have my eye on
We’re driving back from a lacrosse game, listening to Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me! where I learned that holes are disappearing from Swiss cheese (!?). I clicked around and discovered this New Yorker article from 2015 that features commentary from a cheese historian. I love a niche historian, don’t you?
A. I’ve been looking for Ikebana inspiration, and I found a lot.
B. The exhibition that I’ve been working on for months opened last night! One section of the show focuses on the Bicentennial celebrations in 1976. In the course of my research, I came across this bumper sticker, which makes me giggle every time I see it.
C. I love an initial charm.
D. Joy has a habit of returning!
E. I bought three of these benches for work and have been really happy with them. Comfortable without being sloppy.
F. This dress arrived this week, and the fabric is soft and comfortable, the sort of dress that has me excited for summer. I’m 5’ 4” and short-waisted, and I have found Vineyard Vines is often a good source for dresses.
G. Grace Atwood posted this charmer in her Saturday Group Text newsletter.
H. It would look cute inside this jelly tote.
I. This silver crossbody is winking at me.
J. …as are these jeweltone birks.

I am so happy you have introduced me to Vineyard Vines. I love the velvet benches and think it is a wonderful idea for the Historical Society. The Book Ikebana Inspiration is a great help to learning Ikebana. Thank you for so many interesting finds on the internet this week.
Those birks are from 2019, are they re-releasing them?
