Nasturtium butter, a malachite lampshade and summery sheets
Plus, a deck of cards charm and the perfect popcorn pin
March in New England whipsaws between spring and winter, between snowmelt and snowfall. This morning, I looked out the window to see the contours of the garden that had emerged overnight as the last of the snow disappeared, which had me clicking around and adding images to my Garden Goals board on Pinterest. As I write to you this afternoon, a snowstorm is blowing into a whiteout, and the garden is completely obscured. Maybe it’s time to rent a sauna from these mobile sauna folks?! Thanks to the friend who sent me that little dopamine hit earlier this week.
Design Notes
Speaking of dopamine hits, perhaps it’s best to say that this entire newsletter is one big dopamine hit this week. Hoping this gives you a few minutes of joy.
A. What happy sheets! They have me thinking of summer and seeing my people (I love hosting house guests). The pillowcases would be cool for hammock pillows, and the top sheet would be a great tablecloth or easy picnic blanket.
B. Gah! I love splatterware anything, and this whole collection from H&M is lovely.
C. Speaking of house guests, one of my small joys is putting out and using fancy soap in a guest bathroom - what are we here for if not to spoil our favorite people and love them well (and keep them clean in style)? ‘Tomato leaves’ scented hand soap
D. My mother gave me this dramatic vase for my birthday - perfect for a double batch of tulips.
E. A sexy little bit of drama in this lamp - fun in a guest bath or your own bathroom.
Kitchen Notes & Found Objects
F. Nasturtium butter! 1/3 Cup chopped Nasturtium flowers, 1 room-temperature stick butter, minced garlic, and chives to taste. Fold together and chill, covered. By the way, this image has been floating around since 2014—wild!
G. Iced coffee patch because nothing says summer like iced coffee!
H. Yep, “edgy eclectic clown” feels like where I’m at style-wise these days. These pants from Lisa Says Gah make me laugh and laugh. Perfect for a cocktail party or to enliven a routine grocery run.
I. These sneakers from H&M arrived this week - a great green color and low profile. Perfect for spring break!
J. A pop of neon is a forever fav for me.

K. My favorite birthday gift was this deck of cards charm!
L. This cool insert can turn your Altoids tin into a pill box. There is also an insert for my favorite Simple Mints. Fair warning: There is a rabbit hole to go down here like this Altoids tin repurposed to carry tiny dominos.
M. I love a clever idea, and this combo Whoop/Apple Watch Band is clever! Tim is a dedicated user of both and loves this band!
N. This popcorn pin delighted me.
O. Also delightfully charming: this French Fry Pin! Fries for life!
What I Read
This is a shorter section this week; I read a lot of political news 🫠, as I’m sure you did too. Here are a few newsletters that I particularly enjoyed:
For paid subscribers, this week, I shared discoveries from three upcoming auctions, including these spoon-back chairs that you could use to make a room like one from Cabana Magazine!
Thank you, as always, for reading to the end of the newsletter. I love putting them together and love to think of you getting pleasure from reading, clicking around, and going down some rabbit holes. Until next week, keep your chin up.
I savored this post over the whole week and it was delightful. I am terribly jealous of your birthday gifts, though.
I saw the spatterware cups & stuff at the H&M store in Paris. It’s so cute. It comes in green too.
